To get to Porto, there are various transportation options depending on your city of origin. If you are in a major European city, there are direct flights available to Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport in Porto. If there are no direct flights available to Porto from your city of origin, another option is to fly to Lisbon. There are flights available to Lisbon from almost everywhere. From Lisbon, you can either take a flight to Porto or take a train, bus or rental car for a distance of approximately 315km.


From Porto airport to Palacio da Bolsa:

Option 1: Using Metro

Take the Metro (Line E - Violet) from Porto airport to Trindade station. The cost of the metro ticket from Porto airport to Trindade station is approximately 2€ per person. At Trindade station, change to Line D (Yellow) and take the metro to São Bento station. The cost of the metro ticket from Trindade station to São Bento station is approximately 1.50€ per person. Palacio da Bolsa is located within walking distance from São Bento station. Total cost per person: around 3.50€

Option 2: Using Taxi or Uber

Take a taxi or an Uber from Porto airport directly to Palacio da Bolsa in Porto. The journey takes approximately 20-30 minutes and the cost may vary depending on the time of the day and the traffic. Total cost per person: around 20-30€

Option 3: Using Bus

Take the STCP bus line 601 or 602 from Porto airport to Cordoaria. The cost of the bus ticket from Porto airport to Cordoaria is approximately 2€ per person. From Cordoaria, walk to Palacio da Bolsa which is located within walking distance. Total cost per person: around 2€


From Lisbon airport to Palacio da Bolsa:

Option 1: By Airplane

Take a flight from Lisbon Airport to Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport in Porto. The flight duration is approximately 1 hour. Prices for flights vary depending on the airline and time of booking, but can range from around 30€ to 100€ or more, one way. From Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, take the Metro (Line E - Violet) to Trindade station. The ticket price for a single journey is 2€. At Trindade station, transfer to the Metro (Line D - Yellow) and take it to São Bento station. The ticket price for a single journey is 1.50€. Palacio da Bolsa is located within walking distance from São Bento station.

Option 2: By Train

Take the Metro from Lisbon Airport to Oriente station. The metro station is located at Terminal 1, and it’s connected to Terminal 2 by a free shuttle bus. The journey takes about 5 minutes. The ticket price for a single journey is 1.50€. At Oriente station, take the Alfa Pendular or Intercidades train to Porto Campanhã (you may buy tickets at the station or online at https://www.cp.pt). The journey takes approximately 2.5 hours and the ticket costs around 30€ to 40€, one way (subject to change). From Porto Campanhã, take the Metro (Line D - Yellow) to São Bento station. The ticket price for a single journey is 1.50€. Palacio da Bolsa is located within walking distance from São Bento station.

Option 3: Using Bus

Take the Metro from Lisbon Airport to Gare do Oriente station. The metro station is located at Terminal 1, and it’s connected to Terminal 2 by a free shuttle bus. The journey takes about 5 minutes. The ticket price for a single journey is 1.50€. At Gare do Oriente, take the Rede Expressos bus to Porto. The journey takes approximately 3.5 hours and the ticket costs around 20€ to 25€, one way (subject to change). Once you arrive at Porto’s bus station, take the Metro (Line D - Yellow) to São Bento station. The ticket price for a single journey is 1.50€. Palacio da Bolsa is located within walking distance from São Bento station.

Metro tickets information: You can buy the metro tickets for Lisbon and Porto at the ticket vending machines located at the metro stations. The machines accept cash and credit/debit cards. In Lisbon, the machines also accept the Viva Viagem card, which is a reusable smart card that can be loaded with tickets or passes for the metro, buses, trams, and trains. You can buy the Viva Viagem card at the ticket vending machines, at Carris and Metro ticket offices, or at some newsstands and tobacco shops.

In Porto, there is a similar reusable smart card called Andante that can be used for the metro, buses, trams, and trains. You can buy the Andante card at the ticket vending machines, at Andante ticket offices, or at some newsstands and tobacco shops.

Note that in Lisbon, there are different types of metro tickets and passes depending on the duration and the zones you want to travel. In Porto, the Andante card allows you to pay for each trip according to the distance traveled or to load a pass for a certain period of time.
